My fiance and I recently moved into our first home. Our grass has finally begun to come up and we were wondering about some ideas on what to plant. We both have full time jobs and not alot of time to work in the garden. Any suggestions? (I really like my yard to be colorful). And if you do have suggestions, could you please give me a step-by-step run-down of how to plant and take care of them?

Every time I buy a houseplant or look something up that’s related to any kind of gardening I get completely lost in all the terminology, latin names, etc.

I’d like to get better at gardening and growing things without having to get my degree in horticulture. Are there any sources (websites/books) for beginners who don’t understand all the “big words” ?

I don’t have much of a green thumb. My contractor will add mulch and a few basic green bushes. How can I beautify the landscaping. The home will be complete in 4-8 weeks, but I can plant before then. I love perenials, but what else? I can do potted plants, but the in the ground things always seem to die.

Ideas?

Im planning on going into Landscaping. Im 21 years old, I have no experience in landscaping and currently applied to a position I felt intrested in. I like to move around constantly in a job. I want it to be physical, so I though landscaping was a good choice. Is it possible to move up in a lanscaping job? Any advice out there? Thanks!

I live in New Orleans, Louisiana and have been wanting to grow my own herbs and small plants. I don’t have experience in gardening whatsoever and I’d like to know what I should start off with and what plants/herbs are good for this climate (hot and humid). I would like to plant something within the next month. What’s good to plant at this time of year?

Besides insect repellent lotions or sprays. Is there anything further I should use to minimize insect bites? Mosquitoes are ramped in my area. And now that the weather is getting warmer, I’d like to some pruning and gardening. Is there anything additional I should do to protect myself and dear daughter?

I would like to buy landscaping lights that put out some good lighting. I prefer the solar but I have seen them in action and they have very poor lighting. Does anyone know of a good quality landscaping lighting? Thank you for your answers.

I just bought a house with great gardening beds. The only issue is I’m new to gardening and would like to get rid all the plants currently growing there to add new ones. I’d like to pot the rosemary instead of having it on the bed because it seems so invasive. The tomato plants seem to be done for the season. Do I pull them? There are also strawberries, thyme, and others I have no idea what they are.
